Homebound Services

Homebound Services

Have difficulty getting to our Library locations to pick up materials? Our Homebound Services team offers library material drop-off and pick-up services to qualifying individuals!

What is Homebound?

Homebound services are available for people with physical limitations due to age, illness, accident, or disability that keep them from visiting the library in person. The Homebound team works with library volunteers to deliver and pick-up library materials, including books, audiobook CDs, and DVDs, items from our Gadgets and Things collection, and more.

What do I need to qualify?

Participants need a Poudre River Public Libraries card and must reside within the District's service area boundaries. Individuals interested in homebound services should apply with our Homebound team to determine eligibility for the program and arrange services.

How does it work?

Homebound Services matches you with a volunteer who will pick up and deliver materials to you every month. Each delivery can include a full bag of materials, usually holding up to 10 items.

When new materials are delivered, items from the previous delivery will be retrieved and returned to the library.

You and your volunteer will coordinate the date and time.

What does it include?

All physical materials owned by Poudre River Public Libraries are eligible for home delivery!

How do I select items for delivery?

Select materials by placing holds in your online account. You can also call us at 970-221-6740 and let us know what items you would like for your next delivery!

Volunteers can also select materials for you based on your interests or needs.

Fines and Fees

There is no fee for homebound delivery. Overdue fines will not be charged on homebound materials, but the Library's standard fee schedule will apply for damaged or lost items.

We accept applications for our Homebound services anytime.

Those who have physical limitations due to age, illness, accident, or disability that keep them from visiting the library are eligible for this service.
