Celebrating National Library Week
Each year, during April, we get to celebrate National Library Week and spotlight the people who keep Poudre Libraries humming and advocate for essential library services and spaces in our community. This year, from April 19- 25, 2026, Poudre Libraries encourages you to celebrate with us and “Find Your Joy” at the library.
If you’re a big library lover like us, you’re probably familiar with Mychal Threets, an award-winning librarian, author, and new host of the children’s program “Reading Rainbow.” Mychal counts himself as the library’s number one fan and happens to be serving as Honorary Chair for National Library Week!
“Celebrating libraries, thanking library workers, visiting libraries is how I find my joy,” Mychal said. “There are so many library kids and library grown-ups who have yet to fully embrace their library joy, and I am so excited for them! When they enter the world of libraries and stories, I am confident they will find not only their library joy but their courage to believe in their own story and maybe even share it with others.”

Support Your Library
There are many ways to Find Your Joy at the Library, including becoming a volunteer, joining the Friends of the Library group, and shopping used book sales. You can also make a one-time or ongoing financial donation to the Library to enhance or expand library services and collections.
During National Library Week, Poudre Libraries is raising funds to further expand our bookmobile collection. Each year, more and more items are checked out from Evie during her stops throughout the community. Help us create a robust, multilingual collection for all ages! Learn more about donating to the libraries.
Early Closure 4/24
Just a reminder that all Poudre Libraries locations will close at 4:00 pm on Friday, April 24, for a staff event. We re-open at our regular time on Saturday.
