Poudre River Friends of the Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1939 and made up of passionate library advocates and volunteers. The group raises money for the library by selling used books through quarterly used book sales, their Harmony Library Shop and Old Town Library Nook, and online.
Since 2008, the Friends have contributed more than $900,000 to Poudre Libraries from book sale proceeds, fundraising, and memberships to help fund programs and events including Summer Adventure, History Comes Alive, IMAGINANTES youth programs, Harmony Music in the Round concert series, and more.
The Friends of the Library accept donations of gently used books at the Library Administration Center at 301 E. Olive St. Use the driveway on the east side of the building to access the shelves under the overhang.
Please note: The Friends do not accept magazines, textbooks, or music CDs.
DVD donations will be taken by the library for use in supplementing the collection, and replacement of well used copies. Questions about donations of magazine subscriptions should be referred to Collections Development Services at (970) 221-6740.
Receipts for donations are available at the circulation desks at the three libraries and at the Administrative Center.
If you would like to donate items that the Friends do not accept, please contact local schools, temporary shelters, community centers, correctional facilities, churches, or free stores.
Find a wide selection of books online through the Friends’ Amazon Bookshelf.
Whatever your genre, you can find books at incredible prices at both our Harmony Library and Old Town Library bookshops. The Friends of the Library also host book sales throughout the year. Follow our social media to hear about upcoming sales!
