About the Summer Adventure
We’re excited to share that our annual Summer Reading Challenge is now Summer Adventure! We’ve updated the name to reflect the direction that the program has taken over the years, with a strong emphasis on reading as well as writing, STEM, art, and life skills.
The name change reflects our goal to create lifelong readers and learners. We want participants to experience our summer activities not just as tasks to be checked off, but as adventures all on their own! Goals and aspirations are certainly important – and many readers love to set a reading goal each summer (we do!) – but most importantly, we want our participants to experience the joy of a great book, a brain-tickling discovery, or a new friend.
The fun doesen’t have to stop after summer! Keep tracking your reading all year long with our other reading challenges.
Keep the Adventure Going
We know the importance of reading and how it can set children on the path to success. Over the summer, it’s important for kids (and teens) to build a consistent reading routine, explore the world around them, and have fun.
Did you know that reading (or being read to) just 20 minutes a day paves the way to success?
