A Database Spotlight

Your library card might be your best school supply yet. With a card you have access to awesome free digital resources to help with school projects, homework assignments, or just learn something new!

This includes EBSCO’s Explora, filled with resources for homework and research help. This online research database for students allows users to search for articles and news or browse popular topics. It’s helpful for all grade levels – there is a version for elementarymiddle school, and high school students.

Want to know why math is useful in life? Read about a young math-lover who now works for NASA, how we can understand math using virtual reality, and number patterns that in exist in nature.

Writing a history paper for homework? Article topics range from the Qin Dynasty in China, to life on the Oregon Trail, and Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

Just curious about animals? It’s easy to go down this research “rabbit hole.” From jaguars to jumping spiders – you’ll be an expert.

The library has a YouTube tutorial for using the Explora database, with step-by-step instructions and tips for getting the most of out of this research and homework tool. Library staff can also help out – call the answer center at (970) 221-6740 or stop by your library location. If you still need a library card, you can apply for a digital flex card from home, or come in to one of the libraries for a permanent card.
