Library Launches Public Capital Campaign

FORT COLLINS, COLORADO – Poudre Libraries is excited to announce the public phase of its capital fundraising campaign in support of its new public library to be located at 5150 Ziegler Rd. in southeast Fort Collins. The new library is part of the highly anticipated southeast community center facility, a collaborative project among the Library, the City of Fort Collins, and Poudre School District.

The Your Library Amplified campaign is a $2 million initiative to enhance the library experience, expand library services and programs, and foster innovation and creativity at the new library. The public phase of the campaign will run through 2027; the new library and southeast community facility is expected to open in 2028.

To date, with the support of generous lead donors, a total of $1.28 million has been raised toward the $2 million campaign goal. Poudre Libraries Trust has pledged $500,000 and Poudre River Friends of the Library has gifted $100,000 toward the new library. A previous $510,000 estate gift from the Evelyn Traut Estate will also be used to transform the library experience.

The Your Library Amplified campaign is a way to take already exceptional library services to an even higher level and meet the needs of a growing community for generations to come,” said Diane Lapierre, Executive Director, Poudre Libraries. “We are fortunate to have already reached 65% of our campaign goal. The public phase is a way for everyone to invest in this transformative project and join other donors to make a meaningful and significant impact for the future.”

Your Library Amplified enhances and energizes the community’s library experience with larger spaces and greater library amenities such as flexible indoor and outdoor seating including a double-sided fireplace and hearth, multiple teen study rooms, a recording and podcast studio, a children’s indoor interactive play space, and much more.

The Your Library Amplified campaign is a strategic part of Poudre Libraries’ funding plan for its new southeast library and one which allows the Library District to continue exploring future capital projects to meet community needs. Funds raised through the capital campaign help reduce the amount of money the District will have to borrow.
