Starting February 1, 2023, you can cross "renew library books" off your To-Do list. Items checked out on your account will automatically renew up to three times. Renewal periods will be the same length as the original loan period.
Automatic renewals occur unless the item is on hold for another customer or your account is blocked. Most physical items are eligible for automatic renewals. Materials that are not eligible for auto-renewal include Interlibrary Loan, Here & Now Collection, Lucky Day Collection, some Prospector items, some Gadgets & Things, and digital content downloaded from Libby, hoopla, and similar services.
Eligible items will be renewed up to three times. Please note: renewals limits have been reduced from six to three.
Most physical items (e.g., books, DVDs, audiobooks, magazines, etc.) are eligible for up to three automatic renewals unless another customer has placed the item on hold or your account is blocked due to fees of $50.00 or more.
Items that have already been renewed three times will not be renewed. Any items with a hold placed by another customer will not be renewed.
In addition, items that are not eligible for renewal include Interlibrary Loan, Hear & Now Collection, Lucky Day Collection, some Prospector items, some Gadgets & Things, and digital content downloaded from Libby, hoopla, and similar services.
No. Eligible items are renewed the day before the item is due, but the new due date is calculated using the original due date. Renewal periods will be the same length as the original loan period.
If you have chosen to receive notices by email, you will get a notice one day prior to the due date that items have been renewed. The notice will provide the new due date for each item. You will also be notified of any items that weren't renewed because of holds placed by another customer or the item is out of renewals.
To ensure you receive these notices, check that your email address is current in your account or add an email address using the "Edit Account" button. You can review and update your personal information through your online library account (My Account), by calling the Answer Center, or visiting the library for assistance.
Add or update an email address using the "Edit Account" button under "My Account" at PoudreLibraries.org. You can also contact the Answer Center or visit the library for assistance.
