Dig into Stories, Uncover Hidden Histories, and Explore the Past
Dinosaurs, fossils, & fun begins May 27 and runs through August 14
[FORT COLLINS, Colo.] – The 2026 Summer Adventure at Poudre Libraries will be un-DINO-ably awesome this year! The free, 10-week program, Unearth a Story / Desentierra una historia, is all about paleontology, archeology, and the earth under our feet – past and present. It’s Indiana Jones meets “The Land Before Time.”
The program is open to all ages. There are two ways to participate and earn great prizes.
1) Beanstack Digital Tracking: Pre-registration opens May 4 on Beanstack! Sign up on the Beanstack website or download and use the Beanstack Tracker App for a convenient online way to track your progress.
2) Paper Tracking: Use a printed Summer Adventure Tracker available at the libraries or for download starting May 27. Complete the signup slip and turn it in at any library.
Visit any library after you sign up to pick up your Level 1 prize (while supplies last). Then, start digging into new books, fun learning activities, and exciting library programs, and earn points to reach Levels 2 and 3.
Put your archeologist hat on and dig into mysteries from the past or participate in a Jurassic Park-inspired LEGO team build. Make time for hands-on programs that explore geology, volcanology, scatology, and more. Some programs require advanced registration. Program details and registration are available via our online events calendar.
2026 Summer Adventure is presented in partnership with City of Fort Collins Natural Areas and is generously sponsored by Poudre River Friends of the Library, Children’s Eye Care of Northern Colorado, and Bartlett Tree Experts. Additional information about Summer Adventure is available on Poudre Libraries Summer Adventure webpage.
