Poudre Libraries and Front Range Community College (FRCC) have partnered on two Harmony Library construction projects. The first project – public restrooms renovation – is scheduled to begin Monday, January 27, 2025 and continue through early 2025.

Harmony Library will remain open throughout construction..

Automated Materials Handler (AMH) Installation

An AMH will be installed to streamline the return process, allowing staff to get library materials back on the shelves more quickly for you to check out or pick up as a hold.

  • During construction, temporary drop boxes will be used for customers to return books and other items.

Public Restroom Renovations

The library building’s main public restrooms will be renovated as accessible, multi-stall, all-gender facilities.

  • The library’s main public restrooms will be unavailable during construction.
  • Temporary heated and ADA-accessible restrooms will be available outside the library for public use. Other public restrooms on campus are also available including the Longs Peak Student Center.
  • The existing single stall “family restroom” located in the children’s area is not being renovated; it will be open for families and caregivers with young children.

The addition of all-gender restrooms at Harmony Library aligns with FRCC’s and Poudre Libraries’ goals around equity, diversity, and inclusion and supports Colorado state law HB23-1057 (Amenities for All Genders in Public Buildings).

The project ensures that students, faculty, and library users have access to safe restrooms regardless of their gender identity or expression. The all-gender restroom is also accessible for people with disabilities who might have an attendant of a different gender accompany them to the restroom as well as parents and caregivers who need to accompany a child of a different gender.

FRCC and Poudre Libraries will work to minimize disruptions as much as possible while keeping on track with these important projects. If you have any questions about the construction, please talk with a library staff member of contact the Answer Center at 970-221-6740.
